Delhi is eagerly waiting for the monsoon, which is expected to reach large parts of the country in the next 3-4 days.

This will bring much-needed rain to the Indo-Gangetic plains, northern mountains, and Delhi. Punjab and Haryana may also see early showers.

With the heat wave easing, temperatures in the NCR region are now below 40°C, though still slightly above normal.

Delhi has faced near-drought conditions with significant rain deficits in March, April, and May. June has also seen very little rainfall, leading to intense heat, with 14 heat wave days recorded in May and June, the highest in 14 years.

However, relief is on the way as pre-monsoon showers begin today. The monsoon is expected between June 28th and 30th, with heavy showers likely on the 29th and 30th, promising a pleasant end to the month after weeks of scorching heat.
