Northwest Weather Update
Rain Likely to Return After Long Dry Spell

Possibility of wet weather over Northwest

A prolonged dry spell has gripped Northwest and Western parts since early February, with Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh recording almost no rainfall.

Clear skies and stable weather have pushed both day and night temperatures higher, creating warmer and drier winter conditions.

Weak Western Disturbances recently passed over the Himalayas but failed to bring rain to the northern plains.

However, a stronger system is expected around February 16.

It may trigger cyclonic circulation and draw moisture from the Arabian Sea, leading to scattered rain and thunderstorms between February 16 and 19.

Isolated hailstorms are also possible, posing risks to maturing rabi crops. The situation remains dynamic, and updates will follow.
