Rain to Continue Across East and Northeast

The monsoon trough remains active across northern and eastern parts, while a cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal is supporting widespread rain.

Another cyclonic circulation over North Gujarat and Southwest Rajasthan may bring isolated showers to western parts of the country.

During the last 24 hours, coastal Odisha received moderate to heavy rainfall, while Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland witnessed light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells.

Rain also occurred over parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Northeast Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Gujarat.

Over the next 24 hours, Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha and the northern Andaman & Nicobar Islands are likely to receive light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells. Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim may also see scattered showers.

Light rain is expected over the Western Himalayas, Punjab, Haryana, Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
