Monsoon Rain
Rajasthan Heads Into Drier Phase

Rajasthan likely to witness dry weather in the coming days

Rajasthan is likely to see a noticeable decline in monsoon rainfall during the remaining days of August.

After repeated rainy spells in July and early August improved soil moisture and reservoir levels, most parts of the state may now experience largely dry weather.

Weather systems forming over the Bay of Bengal are expected to weaken over central India before reaching Rajasthan.

As a result, only isolated light rain or thundershowers are possible over the next couple of weeks.

Up to August 16, West Rajasthan had a 12% rainfall deficit and East Rajasthan 15%, both within the normal category. A prolonged dry spell could increase these deficits. Meanwhile, fewer rainy days and more sunshine are also likely to cause a gradual rise in temperatures.
