The most awaited treat of winters

As almost all corners of Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing severe cold day conditions and dense fog this week, temperatures dropped to single digits and state residents felt the real chill of North Indian winter!

While it is foggy, dull and cold, there is a positive side to the season - the traditional comfort food! It is specially prepared to warm the body and the mind!

  • Matar ka Nimona: This is a spicy curry preparation made of fresh tender winter peas and enjoyed best with hot rotis or rice.
  • Chikki - Ghazak: Jaggery, sugar and nuts in these delicious handy sweets not only taste great, but also keep you warm and provide instant energy.
  • Gajar ka Halwa: This is the most awaited winter treat of all and we at Weather & Radar India agree, that it is absolutely worth bearing the cold for! Made with red or purple carrots this sweet-dish is laden with mawa, nuts and richness.
