Snowfall and Rain over Jammu and Kashmir

09:08 AM

Snowy Days Ahead
Snowfall and Rain over Jammu and Kashmir

A series of western disturbances will impact northern mountains from January 2 to 5, 2025.

These systems are expected to bring light to moderate snowfall, with heavier periods, particularly over the higher elevations of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Currently, a well-marked cyclonic circulation over Jammu & Kashmir is causing snowfall in the region, while the plains experience partly cloudy skies.

Weather on the radar

In the plains, including parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, light and scattered rainfall is possible on January 5 and 6.

The increased weather activity will alter wind patterns, leading to a shift from cold northwesterly winds to easterly streams, causing night temperatures in the northern plains to rise, though they may still hover around single digits.

Keep an eye on the radar for more information.
