The Southwest Monsoon is in its final stage of withdrawal, with its retreat expected to be completed by October 15.

The monsoon has already withdrawn from Goa, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, while its exit is nearly complete across Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal. Withdrawal has also begun in Assam and Meghalaya.

Meanwhile, conditions are becoming favourable for the arrival of the Northeast Monsoon, possibly around October 15.

Rainfall has already started across parts of southern India, and a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal within 24 hours, bringing more rain.

With El Niño conditions prevailing, the Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring normal to above-normal rainfall, offering hope for agriculture across southern parts.
