Stormy Weather Ahead
Emerging Weather Systems

Two weather systems are currently affecting the South Peninsula.

One is the remnant of the Tamil Nadu depression over Tamil Nadu and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and the other is a well-marked cyclonic circulation off the Goa-Karnataka coast in the Arabian Sea.

The Arabian Sea system will move westward, while the depression will weaken over the same area in the next 2-3 days.

A new system is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by the weekend. This system could move from the Myanmar-Thailand side and strengthen as it travels.

Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar coastlines are at risk of a potential tropical storm.
