First Supermoon of 2026 Rises

Get ready for brighter evenings to begin the year with the first supermoon of 2026 rising overnight.

The Wolf Moon arrives as the first of three supermoons this year, and officially peaks at 03:33 pm Saturday, heralding its rise Friday evening.

This also marks the last of four consecutive supermoons stretching back to October.

An active lunar year

2026 brings 13 full moons thanks to a Blue Moon plus the final total lunar eclipse until 2029!

Conditions for seeing the Wolf Moon rise Friday evening is positive. The clearest view can be found in the north-west, though there is a good chance for most across the country.
