Tips for the Rainy Season
Stay Healthy this Monsoon

Happy Healthy MonsoonHigh humidity during monsoon can be tricky!

Who doesn't love the monsoon? The rains bring the sought-after relief from scorching heat, but the season is also full of perils to your health.

High humidity and incessant rains often account for water-logging, dirty muddy puddles, an increase in mosquitoes and other insects as well as flu and food-borne diseases.

What are some simple steps to stay healthy during the monsoon?

  • Rainy season is the time for mosquitos to breed: diseases like dengue, malaria and scrub typhus are rampant. Avoid any stagnant water in or around your house. Don't store buckets of water for a long time and check the freshness regularly.

  • Fungal skin infections flourish during this season: dry clothes in the sun as much as possible. If you got drenched, dry your feet as soon as possible and avoid wearing wet shoes or socks for a long time.

  • Typhoid and Hepatitis A also spread easier due to contaminated water: Use only filtered or boiled water and do not use water stored for more than 24 hours.

  • Eat more vegetables, especially bitter ones like bitter gourd and use bitter spices like neem, fenugreek, or methi seeds. This will help to increase your immunity and keep toxins away.
