Torrential Rains Batter Rajasthan

Torrential monsoon rains have severely impacted Rajasthan, especially in eastern districts like Jaipur, Alwar, Kota, and Bharatpur.

These areas are under orange and red alerts due to the threat of flooding and waterlogging.

In Ajmer, 89 mm of rain in seven hours caused significant disruptions, including the closure of the Ramsetu elevated road and a bridge collapse in Varuna Sagar, isolating the Defence Colony.

The Shekhawati region, particularly Fatehpur in Sikar district, experienced severe waterlogging, with the bus stand and hospital surroundings submerged.

The IMD forecasts continued heavy rainfall until July 13, urging residents to stay alert and follow safety advisories.
