Uttar Pradesh is suffering through intense cold, gripping both days and nights with chilly wind and dense fog.

Cities like Meerut (1.5°C) and Ayodhya (2.5°C) recorded their lowest temperatures this season, 5-6°C below normal. Daytime temperatures in Agra (11.5°C) and Prayagraj (12.8°C) were also 10-12°C below average.

This bone-chilling situation is caused by cold winds flowing down from the Himalayas and dense fog trapping heat. Relief is unlikely for a week, with even colder mornings expected.

A slight improvement might come around the month's end, but dry and chilly weather will persist until early next week.
