The Northeast Monsoon has brought widespread rainfall across Tamil Nadu, with Chennai experiencing heavy showers since October 15.

On October 18, Nungambakkam recorded 158 mm of rainfall, while Minambakkam received 147 mm. Chennai's monthly rainfall has reached 229.2 mm against the October average of 300.3 mm.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across Chennai and its suburbs from October 19 to 21, with the most intense showers likely on October 20 and 21.

Rainfall intensity may reduce from October 22, with moderate showers continuing until October 24. Drier weather is expected from October 25 onwards.
