January witnessed an active phase of Western Disturbances over the Western Himalayas, bringing widespread rain and heavy snowfall.

The first strong system around January 23 covered Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and adjoining regions in deep snow.

Another disturbance on January 27 followed quickly, delivering moderate to heavy rain and snowfall, marking the peak of winter weather activity.

However, February has seen a clear decline in intensity. During the first few days, only light rain and snowfall were reported over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh.
