Cold Temperatures in Rajasthan

State of Rajasthan has come under awful attack of severe cold for the last many days. Eastern half of the state getting heavily punished than the rest. Nasty cold has struck some pockets with icy freeze and extreme chill. Even the western half is also experiencing single digit minimum temperature, much below the average values.

Sikar and Bhilwara seem to be the coldest with low of 1.8°C, about 5-6°C below the normal. Even, Chittorgarh was the close 2 nd with 2.2°C. All these are the lowest temperature in January this season and are expected to continue, may be with a drop further. The western parts of the state also have dipped to single digit across the region with Jodhpur recording 6.4°C and Ganganagar still lower with 5.8°C. The state is expected to reel under bitter cold conditions for the next few days, till 01 st February.

The anticyclone sitting right over the state now will get pushed far to the south and pave way for relatively warmer and humid winds from the state of Gujarat and Arabian Sea. Extreme northern parts of the state may get light rain between 02 nd and 04 th February. Accordingly, the cold wave will abate from most parts and pleasantly warm days with fair amount of sunshine is expected during next week.
