World Cleanup Day 2022
What Can I Do to Make India Clean?

Waste Segregation IndiaStart with segregating your waste into wet and dry

Today is World Cleanup Day! Isn't it the best occasion to start acting and make our surroundings clean and healthy?

Polluted environment damages our health, spoils the beauty of our surroundings and destroys the habitats of birds and animals. Can we do something to make India cleaner?

We tend to think that cleaning our towns and villages is solely the responsibility of the government and authorities. However, we also have our duties and responsibilities and can easily contribute to Clean India!

  • Segregate garbage in dry and wet (organic) waste: it is very easy and can be done at any household. Keep your kitchen waste separately, give it to animals or compost it to make manure! Glass, clean plastic and paper can be given to Kabari/Raddi Wala.
  • Do not litter anywhere: even easier! Keep wrappers, plastic or any other packaging with you till you find a dustbin. Take a pledge to never ever throw things on the street.

  • Educate and reprimand: this one is more difficult, since people don't always react positively. Try to be curt and polite when you see someone littering on the street. Explain to them, that it is their country and clean environment is our responsibility.
  • Take your vehicle for pollution test two times a year. It does not cost much, but will help to avoid more air pollution.
  • Keep a small dustbin in a car if you own a four-wheeler. Never throw anything from a window of a bus, car or taxi. Request the driver and fellow passengers not to do it too!

These are just a few ideas of how to keep India clean. Do you have more ideas? Share them with us for the next article at info@weatherandradar.in or upload your photos or videos here.
