Record Breaking Rain in May

She signaled the start of rain along the west coast on May 20. A strong weather system over the South Atlantic, powered by intense winds from Antarctica, set off a chain of events that led to the rainfall.

This led to an accelerated monsoon current reaching India’s west coast. This led to very heavy rainfall in Maharashtra by May 22.
