Banda in UP was the first to hit 45°C on April 17, followed by Wardha and Akola in Vidarbha touching the same mark.

Cities like Nagpur, Amravati, and Yavatmal recorded 43°–44°C, while Prayagraj and Varanasi also saw severe heat. Heatwave conditions are active across these regions and will persist for the next few days.

A slight drop of 2–4°C is expected in Maharashtra later, but East UP will stay hot. The 45°C zone may expand further across central and northern India this week.
