Summer started on a very harsh note this year and states like Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra have already experienced heat wave conditions.

  • Drinking very cold water or aerated drinks: If the temperature of the liquid is much lower than that of your body, than the cooling effect doesn't last for long and you are soon going to be thirsty again. Drink plain water, nimbu paani or coconut water of room temperature.
  • Wearing synthetic clothes: These fabrics don't let your skin breathe and choke your pores. Wear light and natural materials like cotton or khadi.
  • Preparing food during peak heat hours: Avoid cooking between 12 pm and 3 pm, since being near a gas stove aggravates heat and can damage your health.
