Relief From Dry Weather
Heavy Rain over Bengaluru

Rain over parts of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu

Bengaluru has finally received relief from the dry, almost drought-like weather that continued through most of April 2026.

In the last few days of the month, the city saw widespread pre-monsoon rain, with around 111 mm recorded in just 24 hours, a very high amount for this time of year.

Rain has covered almost all parts of the city and nearby areas.

The rain is mainly happening during late afternoon and evening hours, continuing into the night before skies clear by morning.

A north-south trough stretching from Vidarbha to Kanyakumari, along with moisture from the Bay of Bengal, is causing these showers.

Rain activity is expected to continue till May 8, with moderate to heavy spells likely during evenings and nights.
