Delhi Gets Relief From Cold

Delhi/NCR continued to see respite from extreme cold for the second straight day.

Day temperatures rose sharply to 26.7°C, around 4°C higher than the previous day and over 7°C above normal.

This became the second-highest January maximum since 2019. The cold nights are unlikely to return soon, with minimum temperatures expected to rise further this week.

Weather conditions are set to change as clouds, winds and humidity increase.

Light rainfall is likely to break the long dry spell, with the first spell expected on 23 January.

Another rain event may follow between 26 and 28 January, keeping Republic Day weather on the fringes.
