Heatwave Streak in Pune
Extreme Summer Heat in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is reeling under intense heat, especially in its landlocked areas. Vidarbha cities like Nagpur, Wardha, and Amravati saw temperatures touch 44°C, while Chandrapur and Akola crossed 45°C.

Bramhapuri was the hottest in India at 45.9°C. Madhya Maharashtra, too, is sizzling, with Jalgaon, Malegaon, and Nandurbar crossing 43°C.

Pune is facing a rare hat-trick of heat waves, with Lohegaon recording over 43°C for three days in a row. Hot winds from Sindh, Gujarat, and North Maharashtra are worsening the situation.

No relief is expected soon, and the heat wave will likely continue through the weekend. Despite April-May being hot in Pune, the absence of pre-monsoon showers for weeks has made the heat even more unbearable.
