Himachal Pradesh Flash Floods

A massive cloudburst on August 6, 2025, triggered flash floods along the Kinner Kailash Yatra route in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district, washing away small bridges and cutting off pilgrim paths.

Sudden, torrential rains caused torrents in local rivulets like Ribba, swollen far beyond normal levels.

Monsoon conditions across Himachal have been relentless since June 20, with Kinnaur, Mandi, Kullu and Kangra districts facing repeated cloudbursts, heavy rains, and flooding.

IMD had issued multiple alerts warning of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in vulnerable areas.

As of now, authorities report several roads blocked statewide, highways closed, and prolonged disruption to water, electricity, and transport networks.

Officials warn that intense monsoon activity is expected to continue in Kinnaur and neighbouring districts in the days ahead.
