Recognizing the Goodness of Bats

As we get ready to celebrate International Bat Night, let's talk about how bats help our environment.

Bats are like nature's pest controllers. They eat insects that can harm plants and crops, which helps farmers and the environment.

Some people think bats are dangerous, but that's not true for most bats. Indian Flying Foxes, for example, eat fruits, nectar, and plant stuff. They don't want to hurt people.

They also help plants grow by moving pollen when they visit flowers for nectar. This helps plants make fruits and seeds, which is important for nature.

Bats have some problems too. They're losing their homes because of things like cutting down trees and sickness.

This is causing fewer bats in some places. This can affect the environment and how we grow food.

International Bat Night reminds us to understand and appreciate bats.

We need to learn about them and fix any wrong ideas to understand that they're important and protect them.
