Latest on Debby's threat
Debby brings massive flood threat

Debby, making landfall in Florida’s Big Bend early Monday, will bring dangerous flooding to northern Florida, southeastern Georgia and coastal South Carolina for the next several days.

Tracking Debby on the WeatherRadar, shows it moving across northern Florida today before moving into southeastern Georgia. It will meander across the Georgia and South Carolinas Coast Tuesday and Wednesday.

Although it will weaken as it moves over land and diminish to a tropical storm and eventually a tropical depression, Debby’s biggest threat will be the copious downpours this large system will produce.

Rainfall totals approaching 2 feet are likely from Central Florida northward into southeastern South Carolina. A few spots along the Southeast Coast could receive upwards of 30 inches of rainfall.

This tropical deluge will produce dangerous flooding for the Tampa Bay area, Tallahassee, Gainesville and Jacksonville, Fla., Valdosta and Savannah, Ga., and Charleston, S.C. Coastal flooding due to a 2 to 4 feet storm surge will develop along the Georgia and South Carolina coast as Debby moves northward while the 2 to 6 feet surge hitting the Florida Gulf Coast and Big Bend area diminishes.

Weather & Radar meteorologists are tracking Debby and will provide continuous updates in our LIVE blog.
