Monsoon Active in First Week of August

The southwest monsoon is expected to remain active across large parts during the first week of August, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms to many states.

An active monsoon trough, supported by a western disturbance over the Himalayas and multiple cyclonic circulations, will keep weather conditions favourable for rainfall.
