Monsoon Active in First Week of August

The southwest monsoon is expected to remain active across large parts during the first week of August, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms to many states.

An active monsoon trough, supported by a western disturbance over the Himalayas and multiple cyclonic circulations, will keep weather conditions favourable for rainfall.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, the Northeast, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Localised flooding, waterlogging and traffic disruptions are possible in vulnerable areas.

Meanwhile, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab are likely to receive intermittent showers, while isolated rain is expected over Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka. Residents should stay updated with the latest weather forecasts before planning outdoor activities.
