A cyclonic system over the Bay of Bengal is moving westward toward Sri Lanka and coastal Tamil Nadu, bringing increased rain from the Northeast Monsoon.

Starting today, rain will begin along coastal Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, and spread to interior areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala from November 8-10.

The heaviest rainfall is expected between November 11-15, possibly extending to other areas like South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

After passing over the South Peninsula around November 11-12, the system will continue to bring rain, supported by northeasterly winds.

Cities likely to experience heavy rain include Chennai, Puducherry, Madurai, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, and Bengaluru, with lighter rain expected across other parts of the South Peninsula for the next 10 days.
