The Southwest Monsoon has finally arrived in Mumbai, nearly 13 days later than its normal onset date, bringing torrential rain across the city and suburbs.

The Southwest Monsoon reached Mumbai nearly 13 days late, bringing torrential rain across the city and suburbs.

Santacruz recorded 225 mm rainfall, while Colaba received 248 mm in the last 24 hours. Heavy rain led to waterlogging, traffic congestion and disruptions in several parts of the city.

Rainfall was most intense over North Konkan, including Mumbai, Palghar and Alibag. Heavy to very heavy showers, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, are expected to continue for the next two days.

Flight operations have also been affected, with delays and possible cancellations reported. Travelers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
