Here are key safety measures to follow:

  • Follow official IMD and local authority advisories, and move to safer locations immediately if flooding or landslide warnings are issued.
  • Avoid waterlogged roads, underpasses and flooded railway tracks, as open manholes and strong currents may be hidden.
  • Travel only if necessary and check the latest train and flight updates before leaving home.
  • Stay away from old buildings, damaged walls, trees and electric poles that may collapse during strong winds.
  • Never touch fallen power lines or electrical equipment in flooded areas.
  • Keep emergency supplies, charged phones, drinking water and essential medicines ready.

Stay safe and keep an eye on the radar.
