Fresh spells of rain and thundershowers swept across Delhi this morning, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.

Continuous cloud cover and rainfall have kept temperatures in check, with the maximum temperature likely to remain below 34°C today, making it one of the coolest days of June so far.

A cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan and an east-west trough extending across northern India are supporting the ongoing weather activity.

Another western disturbance is expected to approach the region by tomorrow, keeping pre-monsoon conditions active until June 20. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected mainly during the night and early morning over the next four days.

Day temperatures will remain below normal, while nights are likely to stay pleasant in the mid-20s.

Despite recent showers, Delhi continues to face a rainfall deficit this month, and the southwest monsoon may arrive later than its normal June 27 onset date.
