Rainy Purnima Friday in Tamil Nadu

Yellow alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra PradeshYellow alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected today in North Tamil Nadu and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The rains are due to a weakened low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and an ongoing cyclonic circulation. Cities like Chennai and Puducherry will likely experience several heavy rain spells.

The weather impact is being intensified by a trough along the coasts and an easterly wave moving near Sri Lanka, strengthening the northeast monsoon along these regions.
