One of the reasons is the monsoon pattern which swipes through the entire subcontinent and creates interdependencies. Culture & devotion: From the early Vedic times Lord Indra has been associated with rains, sky, lightning & thunders. Our ancestors worshipped the nature and prayed for rains. For plentiful precipitation meant fertility and prosperity.
