Summer Heading Our Way
What Does Monsoon Mean to India?

Monsoon KeralaMonsoon & India share a special bond

India and monsoon are inseparable. As we are approaching the pre-monsoon season our gaze shifts towards the sky trying to spot those formidable clouds!

We at Weather & Radar India always observe the heightening interest of our users during the rainy season!

  • Agriculture: Our sowing and harvesting have always been in perfect tune with the monsoon’s arrival and departure. Irrigation is still largely dependent on the rain water.
  • Relief from heat: Most of India experiences severe heat and heat waves circa two months before the onset of the first monsoon showers. Rains bring along cool breeze, decrease in temperature and the sought-after shade!
  • Unifying bond: Despite being so diverse Indian states and union territories stand united. One of the reasons is the monsoon pattern which swipes through the entire subcontinent and creates interdependencies.
  • Culture & devotion: From the early Vedic times Lord Indra has been associated with rains, sky, lightning & thunders. Our ancestors worshipped the nature and prayed for rains. For plentiful precipitation meant fertility and prosperity.
