Temperature touching 40°C - Hottest Day of the Season in Delhi

On March 25, 2025, Delhi recorded its hottest day of the year or so we thought, with temperatures reaching a scorching 37.1°C.

This is much higher than usual for this time of year and has made the heat feel even more intense.

Delhi has now recorded its hottest day of 2025, with temperatures reaching 40.1°C in the Ridge area. The intense heatwave has gripped the city, far surpassing the normal seasonal temperatures.

Safdarjung, the city's official weather station, recorded 38.9°C, a staggering 7.4°C above average. The surge in heat is attributed to clear skies and dry conditions, causing temperatures to soar.

Although Thursday may bring some respite with slightly cooler winds, residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor exposure during the afternoon.

As March draws to a close, Delhiites continue to face the early onslaught of summer, setting the stage for a scorching season ahead.
