Ramban Tragedy
Weather Improves in J&K

Last week’s cloudburst in Ramban caused flash floods and landslides, damaging roads and homes.

Five lives were lost, and many tourists were stranded as the Jammu-Srinagar highway got blocked. Bad weather, with heavy rain and hail, delayed rescue work.

Crops in Shopian also suffered due to hailstorms.

Now, weather conditions are improving as the western disturbance moves northeast. Relief efforts are back on track. Light rain was seen in areas like Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Jammu, but skies are clearing.

However, another weak western disturbance is expected on April 24–25. While not severe, it may cause small landslides.

People are advised to stay alert, especially near mountain slopes and water bodies. Weather is likely to stay stable after April 26.
