Delhi Weather Update
Long Dry Spell to End as Rain Returns to Delhi

Delhi set to witness rain and thunderstorm in the coming days.

Delhi is set to witness a much-awaited change in weather after one of its longest dry spells in recent years.

Safdarjung observatory last recorded measurable rainfall on 8 October 2025, soon after the southwest monsoon withdrew.

Since then, only a trace was noted on 9 January 2026. Now, relief is in sight as decent rainfall is expected to begin during the early hours of tomorrow.

An active western disturbance over north Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir, along with an induced cyclonic circulation, is driving this change.

Though Delhi lies on the fringes, cloudy skies, rising temperatures, easterly winds and intermittent rain are likely through the day. Weather activity will weaken by midnight, with dry conditions returning on Saturday.
