Amritsar, Hisar, Karnal, and Kanpur saw single-digit lows, with Srinagar touching freezing point at 0°C. Strengthening winds from snow-clad regions are carrying a distinct winter chill.

A developing anticyclone over Rajasthan will push cold winds into Madhya Pradesh and North Gujarat, dropping temperatures further in the coming days.

Clear skies and calm nights are expected to aid radiational cooling, making the northern plains colder as single-digit temperatures spread wider next week.
