Delhi has been witnessing unusually cool weather for early May, with temperatures staying well below normal throughout the week.

Safdarjung recorded a maximum of 33.6°C yesterday, nearly 6°C below average, while Palam remained around 8°C below normal.

Minimum temperatures have also stayed lower than the seasonal average during the first week of May. Weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry over the next few days as western disturbance activity has shifted away from North India.

However, temperatures will gradually rise till May 11, with daytime highs likely touching 39°C by Sunday and Monday, close to normal levels.

A fresh western disturbance is expected around May 11, bringing rain, thundershowers, dust storms and gusty winds to Delhi-NCR on Monday night. Light weather activity may continue on Tuesday, followed by a slight dip in temperatures next week.
