Heavy Rain Continues Across Gujarat

Heavy rain continued over several parts of Gujarat on Friday, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions in many areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for 13 districts in Central and South Gujarat, with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall likely to continue until tomorrow.

Surat, Kheda and Anand were among the worst-affected districts. Umarpada in Surat received nearly 8 inches of rain, while Borsad in Anand recorded over 6 inches by noon.

Rescue and relief operations are ongoing in affected areas. Authorities have evacuated people from some low-lying locations, while emergency teams remain deployed. The IMD has also advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea until August 2.
