Rains lash Chhattisgarh and West Bengal

Remnant of Cyclone Michaung in West Bengal

The remains of cyclone Michaung have formed a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh.

A trough stretches across Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh. The system will move northeast and weaken in the next 48 hours.

It caused moderate to heavy rain in central and eastern India. Parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal experienced showers.

Jamshedpur got heavy rainfall. Light rain occurred in Telangana, Vidarbha, East Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Bihar. The weather system will weaken, leading to light activity in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Rain will decrease in interior Odisha. Jharkhand, West Bengal, and northeast India will see continued weather activity for the next 48 hours. Clearer and pleasant weather is expected from December 9.
