Delhi-NCR is likely to see an increase in monsoon rainfall this week after remaining mostly dry during the past five days.

Safdarjung recorded 354.1 mm of rain in August, over 50% above its monthly normal of 226.8 mm. However, both Safdarjung and Palam remained dry during the last five days.

Rain chances remain low on September 1, but showers and thunderstorms may return from September 2, particularly from late afternoon onwards.

A low-pressure area moving inland from eastern India, along with a western disturbance, is expected to bring the monsoon trough closer to Delhi.

Rainfall activity could become stronger between September 5 and 7, bringing relatively cooler and more pleasant conditions across Delhi-NCR.
