Heat Shifts from West to East

West Rajasthan and Gujarat were the hottest regions until last week, but now the intense heat has shifted to Odisha and Vidarbha. Jharsuguda recorded the country’s highest temperature at 46.2°C. Interior Odisha is facing extreme heat, while the coastal areas are hot and very humid.

Heatwave conditions will continue for four more days, especially in parts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh.

A cyclonic system and a trough line are affecting the weather, stopping moist winds from reaching inland. From 27th April, pre-monsoon thunderstorms are expected across Odisha, bringing relief from the heat and continuing into the first week of May.
