Cyclone Tej Makes Landfall

Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Tej' is headed for landfall along the Yemen-Oman border late tonight or early tomorrow.

It's currently around 165 NM south-southwest of Salalah, with weakening expected due to factors like cooler sea temperatures, proximity to the coast, and dry air interaction. Despite this, it may still bring winds of 120-140km/h and heavy rains to coastal areas.

This isn't new for our region, as the Indian seas have seen a string of tropical storms in recent years, including the devastating 'Amphan' in 2020. Remarkably, this marks the 6th consecutive year for Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storms in the region.

For the Indian Coast!

Another cyclone is brewing in the North Bay of Bengal, though milder compared to 'Tej.'

We need to stay vigilant and prepared for such natural occurrences. Safety is our top priority. Please stay updated with official advisories and alerts and take all necessary precautions.
