After a dry February, Rajasthan saw a sharp rise in weather activity during March.

Both regions recorded surplus rainfall, with West Rajasthan at 39% excess and East Rajasthan at 61% above normal till March 23.

This change is due to active Western Disturbances after March 12, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.

While the rainfall has added moisture, it has also caused untimely weather events. Standing crops have been damaged in several districts during the harvest season, raising concerns for farmers.

The rain belt is now shifting east and north. Districts like Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, and Alwar may witness more rain and thunderstorms in the coming days.
